Simon Mayer is a performer, dancer, choreographer and musician, and is regarded as one of Austria’s most exciting stage artists. His choreographies are performed internationally. In Rudolstadt, Simon Mayer is presenting two of his projects: Sons of Sissy and FolkDanceParty.

Sons of Sissy is a brilliant fusion of folk dance and contemporary dance. Four performers and musicians alternate between acting as a quirky folk music quartet and an experimentally playful ritual dance ensemble. With humour, the production radically turns stereotypical male role models on their head.

FolkDanceParty is a collective dance floor happening dedicated to a peacefully wild interplay of bodies. It was developed by Simon Mayer and the dancer and choreographer Hannah Shakti Bühler. Together with the Italian ensemble BandAdriatica, they invite the audience to join in the celebration - a powerful experience of art and movement.
