We first came across the Syrian-German duo ten years ago, so we are especially delighted that they are now performing in Rudolstadt! At that time, they were pioneers of a captivating, danceable sound, intertwining traditional Arabic melodies with influences from deep house, dub, downbeat and hip-hop. Today, Shkoon have made it to the big stages, including the Elbphilharmonie and electronic music festivals. Their current project, TRACES, is inspired by the ideals of the Syrian revolution and the universal yearning for freedom. They refer to their performances as 'musical diplomacy' — an invitation to come together and experience what unites us.
