Line up 2022: Cimarrón

Our list of wishes had already known him for a couple of years: Harpist Carlos Rojas. So we were more than happy when he confirmed for Rudolstadt 2020. But then the musician died in January 2020 at age 65. His wife, singer Ana Veydó decided to carry on with the band. That’s why this summer Carlos Rojas will be with us in our mind’s eye, but in person we can welcome his vivid group from Colombia’s Llanos region. The endless plains along Orinoco River unite Indigenous, Andalusian and African influences and you can also hear this in popular Joropo dance music. Cimarrón perform a modern version of the genre with an impressive singer, four-stringed cuatro guitar, rattling maracas and more.
