Trio Räss (SUI)Now into their third decade of adding new shades, colours and textures to the closely related Bavarian and the Swiss Appenzeller musical traditions, Trio Räss are a sonic and a visual treat. Hackbrett (hammer dulcimer), vibraphone, string bass and surprise instruments partner to summon whispering woods, bird call and, if you’re lucky, perhaps even the bleating of high pasture goats. Memo to self. Must remember to mention the polkas, waltzes and weird-ass yodelling.
