Silja

Silja

Silja Silja is the shortened form of Cäcilia in Low German (Plattdeutsch) – a cognate German language. Now dig this… Saint Cecilia’s gig was and is to be the patron saint of musicians. Silja play German traditional music with Jewish and jazzy influences. Their debut album in 2020 was tradfusion and that’s what they do. One, two, three, “Oh, Saint Silja, you’re breakin’ my heart…”
