Leléka (UKR)
Leléka (UKR)"A voice with aura and a bright, soft sound full of captivating natural power," was how broadcaster BR-Klassik described Ukrainian vocalist Viktoria Leléka. The Ukrainian word 'Leléka' means stork, and symbolizes love and happiness in Ukrainian folklore. Leléka are an ensemble of four international musicians formed in Berlin in 2016. Within a few short years, they garnered accolades such as the Young Artists’ Jazz Award Burghausen and the Creole Global Music Contest, firmly establishing themselves in the cross-border genre pairing chamber jazz with Ukrainian folk music. Leléka have performed in Germany, Ukraine, Sweden, Poland, Austria and the Czech Republic. They were nominated as Band of the Year 2022 at the German Jazz Awards for their album “Sonce u Serci” (“Sun in Your Heart”).
