Eric Bibb (USA)
Eric Bibb (USA)class="English">Exceptional US American blues with a dash of understatement. Born in New York, Eric Bibb grew up with the music of Pete Seeger and Bob Dylan, both friends of his father. He began playing folk guitar at the age of seven. Broadening his repertoire to include singing, piano, and double bass, his main (and favourite) instrument remained the guitar, and his fingerpicking skills are outstanding. Having lived in Sweden for decades and now aged 72, Bibb has developed a distinctive musical style out of the blues, folk and gospel. He also writes songs for many other singers. In 2006, alongside his father, Leon Bibb, he released Praising Peace – A Tribute To Paul Robeson, a homage to his godfather, the artist and civil rights activist Paul Robeson.
