Emma Langford Ensemble (IRE)class="English">Emma Langford is a leading light in the new Irish folk movement. The singer-songwriter hails from Caherdavin, a northern suburb of Limerick City – and her music is pure magic. Her debut album Quiet Giant won her the Irish RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Award for Best Emerging Artist in 2018, and in subsequent years she was nominated twice for Best Folk Singer. Now 34, Langford is known for her songwriting versatility, blending traditional instrumentation – fiddle, guitars and piano – with contemporary melodies and rhythms. Her music, both lyrical and expressive, weaves together narratives that are at once touching and unexpected.
