Yoko Pwno
SCOFirst things first: Yoko Pwno is pronounced yoe - koe - poe - noe. It rhymes with Yoko Ono, or Loco Bono if you prefer. The band is relaxed about it. The BBC called Yoko Pwno ‘one of Scotland's favourite live acts’. The fact is, these Scots bring a new and infectious energy to traditional music. Seven friends who - in their own words - have made it their mission to ‘blow you away with a mix of self-penned folk melodies, songs and the kind of banging, quirky dance beats that punctuate Edinburgh's underground club scene.’ They do that damn well! They've released two albums since 2019, toured all over the UK, even opened for London indie electro band Hot Chip, and now they're conquering the continent.
