Winkeltanz

AUT

Winkeltanz spans four centuries and the various musical traditions of Central Europe. The name alludes to periods when certain dances could only be performed in secret. The trio's repertoire ranges from Baroque to folk and jazz. This sometimes results in a polyphonic sound produced by three bagpipes, and at other times a light-footed groove featuring saxophone, bagpipes and harp, as in 'Weißer G'spritzter', Austria's version of a white wine spritzer.
