The band lives up to its name: when Whirligig gets going, it only takes a few bars for the whole hall to be in motion. The ceilidh band from Galloway in south-west Scotland is bringing classics such as Gay Gordons, Strip the Willow and Dashing White Sergeant to Rudolstadt, as well as other couple dances, set dances and waltzes.Drawing on influences from all over Europe, they perform a mix of traditional tunes and original compositions. As their promise goes, ceilidh dancing with Whirligig is ‘fun to do and easy to learn’.
