Buongiorno a tutti! The Progetto Tarantella are Fortunato Stillitano and Valentina Donato from Calabria (southern Italy). With organetto (diatonic accordion) and tamburello (shell drum) they play the traditional tarantella, which has been documented as a dance form since the early 17th century. It was so famous that even many classical composers of the Romantic period, such as Fanny Hensel and Gioachino Rossini, could not resist this dance and incorporated it into their music.
