Pedair

WAL

Pedair, the feminine form of ‘pedwar’ (‘four’ in Welsh), brings together the talents of four of Wales' best-known and award-winning folk artists: Gwenan Gibbard, Gwyneth Glyn, Meinir Gwilym and Siân James. Together they bring traditional material to life with new arrangements on harps, guitars, piano and accordion. In their live performances, they capture the hearts of audiences with their harmonies, their new interpretations of Welsh folk tradition and their intimacy in songwriting. In their songs they react to the current state of the world, hope in the resilience of nature and give women a voice. Their first recordings, made during the lockdown, gained instant popularity and unexpectedly became a source of comfort and hope for many (including Pedair herself!).
