Mattias Pérez, Mia Marine and Nina Pérez met 22 years ago at the Nordtrad conference in Kokkola, Finland. All three had travelled from Värmland in Sweden, and the trio was born from their first jam session together. Their mixture of traditional melodies, powerful dances and their own compositions has also delighted the critics: ‘The trio is almost telepathic - a wondrous combination of precision and seizing the moment,’ remarked Doug Spencer on ABC radio. The instructions are given by Anna Öberg, for many currently Sweden's leading dance master. Her workshops focus on the communication between music and dance and finding ways in which the dancing bodies can express the music, with an emphasis on groove, subdivision, phrasing and ergonomics.
