Anyone expecting traditional Nordic folk music here will be disappointed: the Swedish-Norwegian trio Mojna has developed an original and unique sound with elements of improvisation and contrapuntally conceived lines. Their imaginative and virtuoso folk music on guitar (Thomas Eriksson), Hardanger fiddle (Helga Myhr) and clarinet/bass clarinet (Anna Malmström) has won them several awards: In 2022, MOJNA was named ‘Instrumental Band of the Year’ by the music magazine Lira and the Swedish Folk & World Music Gala 2023 celebrated their debut album För Sola Skin' På Tak as “Release of the Year”. The compositions are fresh and surprising, even inspired by melodies from Ottoman music culture. You've never heard Scandinavian folk like this before!
