These four are not easy to describe: Yes, it is folk music - and yet not at all. Because Maxjoseph have their very own idea of it. With violin, Styrian harmonica, guitar and tuba, Maxjoseph composes and plays a new mixture. It sounds like chamber music, then again jazz shimmers through, Indian raga, minimal music or the feeling of a rock band. Nevertheless, it sounds light and elegant, with flawless interplay that betrays classical training. ‘NAU’ is the name of the ensemble's latest album and programme - music that has been missing not only in Bavaria, but also elsewhere, with fresh ideas that break down clichés and interpret folk music in a completely new way.
