The two sisters M. Lalitha and M. Nandini are considered the only female duo in Asia who combine South Indian and Western classical music on the violin bringing it together with world music. South Indian classical music refers to Carnatic music, which is characterised by many melodic and rhythmic variations. Born into an illustrious musical family in Tamil Nadu, Lalitha and Nandini gained international reputation and have received numerous awards thanks to their artistic skills and playing technique. They invite the audience to discover pieces from the 6th and 7th centuries as well as contemporary compositions.
