Los Cinc Jaus
FRAThese ‘five roosters’ are named after the town of the five roosters, Yssingeaux, in the south of France. Their music comes from the Velay, part of the former province of Languedoc. Los Cinc Jaus have dedicated themselves to the exploration and valorisation of their Occitan heritage. With vocals, accordion, cabrette (Auvergne bagpipes), accordion and hurdy-gurdy, the four (!) of Los Cinc Jaus play outrageously beautiful dances, born of a great friendship, an ever-growing interest in the melodies and lyrics of this little corner of the world, and the endless pleasure of playing them, reinventing them again and again and of course - sharing them with others.
