The musicians of Kapela Janiszewskich are a family band with friends. They live and work on both sides of the German border, in Berlin and Pomerania, as well as in Luxembourg and Trier. Their repertoire is just as boundless. They are fascinated not only by the music and traditional culture of their Pomeranian region, but also by regional dance music traditions throughout Poland and Europe. They are also passionate about classical, popular and religious music.
They actively promote culture in their local communities, conducting their own field and archival research. Using instruments such as the violin, accordion, baraban drum and archaic Kalisz bass, they perform lively polkas, stirring kujawiaks, magical mazurkas and, of course, polonaises.
