Kader Tarhanine
MLIHe has been called the ‘rising star’ of modern Tuareg music: Kader Tarhanine comes from the Sahel-Sahara zone (Mali-Niger-Algeria), the transition from Sahara to savannah. His song ‘Tarhanine Tegla - My Love Gone’ catapulted him onto the international stage in 2012. His guitar-influenced music combines traditional Tuareg rhythms with rock sounds, and his poetic lyrics are written in Tamacheq or Arabic. Throughout his career, Kader has collaborated with icons of African music, including Oumou Sangaré and Fatoumata Diawara. Kader Tarhanine's music transcends borders: he advocates unity between the Sahel-Saharan regions and the Maghreb, which are often shaken by crises. An ambassador for peace.
