The cosmopolitan British electric guitarist Justin Adams and the southern Italian violinist and percussionist Mauro Durante met in Apulia at the Notte della Taranta. Now they are a duo. Justin Adams worked with Robert Plant, and later with North African bands such as Tinariwen and Rachid Taha. His projects with the Gambian maestro Juldeh Camara have won awards. The tradition of the griot met the raw spirit of the blues. The new collaboration with violinist and percussionist Mauro Durante explores the southern Italian sound world. Part atmospheric, part raw and wild, they share and connect their worlds. Together they create a raw, restrained sound that moves and fascinates.
