In German 'Frohe Zukunft' means happy future. Just saying the name out loud lifts your spirits, and their music definitely puts you in a good mood. The brass band from Halle (Saale) play whatever they feel like. Initially, their repertoire consisted mainly of specially arranged Balkan sounds and New Orleans marching band hits, but after breaking up and reforming, they refined their style. With new members and a fresh start, the now 12-piece band has become more powerful and virtuosic, adding elements of punk, polka and psychedelia. The set lists are increasingly filled with their own compositions. Their music can be brilliant or brutal, as long as it rocks and gets the audience moving.
