Frank Bettenhausen

DEU

Rudolstadt’s cantor is performing with two alphorn players, Jörg Maier and Klaus Seyfarth. Both are captivated by its rustic, archaic and resonant sound. Although the alphorn is Switzerland’s national instrument, it has also found its way across the border into the Austrian region of Vorarlberg. The trio’s repertoire includes pieces by Hermann Studer, Leopold Mozart, Hans Kuhner and Zsolt Gárdonyi.
Frank Bettenhausen studied church music and piano pedagogy. He was the deanery cantor at the Stadtkirche in Rüsselsheim, and has worked alongside his wife as a church musician at the two main churches in Rudolstadt since 2002. In his role as artistic director, he founded the Rudolstadt Organ Days and works as an organ consultant for the Evangelical Church in Central Germany. Concert tours, radio and CD recordings complete his career.
