In the tradition of the French-speaking Alps (Lake Geneva Arc, Chablais, Valais, Aosta Valley), the Follaton is a fantastic, mischievous and jocular creature who likes to play tricks. But if you smile at his antics and put a bowl of dried fruit in front of him, he can muck out the stable or provide small services. Follaton is also the name of a musical ensemble that endeavours to revive the music of the French-speaking Swiss tradition by reinterpreting it, while sticking to acoustic music. Follaton draws its repertoire from manuscripts, old recordings and collections. He also includes songs from the traditional repertoire and contemporary compositions from all over French-speaking Switzerland. Sometimes Follaton complements this with other songs from the European Alps.
