Florian Paul Kapelle & Die Kapelle der letzten Hoffnung
DEUHis lyrics feel like cinematic stories. This may be due to his keen eye for detail or the fact that Florian Paul trained as a film composer – or perhaps both. In any case, alongside pop and jazz, his songwriting has a distinctly cinematic quality, and he imbues seemingly everyday occurrences with a subtle poetic dimension. Melancholy lurks beneath the surface of his songs, yet they also radiate a zest for life and infectious energy. This, together with the band, makes for great performances. In their current programme, ‘Alles wird besser’ (Everything Will Get Better), the focus is on the dream of a happier tomorrow. The band writes, 'You simply mustn't stop dreaming. Then perhaps not everything will be fine. But it will be better.'
