When the Swedish group Duga released their debut EP, Ørf (Ours), in 2024, it was quickly dubbed 'the darkest album of the year'. Duga are dedicated to music that has grown out of the traditional melodies of the Nordic countries and is carried by a powerful, sombre accompaniment. After years of studying the melodic origins of Scandinavia, Duga combine their experiences with new techniques and contemporary forms of expression to lend the music a timeless elegance.
