All beginnings are difficult: church music director Frank Bettenhausen wanted to combine this year's concert with the country focus. But organ in Mali?
The solution was found in the kora family: this instrument is a bridge harp and is related to the European concert harp. And Frank Bettenhausen knew a musician in Berlin. Maura Knierim studied in Stuttgart, Versailles, Vienna and Berlin. Later took part in the Klangspuren Festival in Tyrol and the Darmstadt Summer Courses for New Music. She is a member of various ensembles between chamber and world music and also works for children.  Frank Bettenhausen, born in Kassel, studied church music and has been working as a church musician in the two main churches in Rudolstadt since 2003.
