This band is building a bridge between the Alentejo and Afghanistan. A group of musicians from the Alentejo, together with other Afghan refugees and an American musician who is committed to preserving Afghanistan's musical heritage, have built a kind of time-space portal: they are travelling back and forth between the Guadiana river valleys and Kabul, building bridges where there were once borders. ‘Drop by drop, the river is made,’ says the Afghan proverb. And there are ‘human stories’ that rivers and stones tell. And there is music that tells the stories of people, rivers and stones.
