Aba Trio
SUINatural yodelling is the world of the Swiss Aba Trio. They are particularly fond of such distinctive and unpolished forms as the Jüüzli or Zäuerli. However, the three musicians are not vocal virtuosos, but highly skilled players of the violin, percussion and bass mandola. Through their music, they translate the ancient vocal traditions of the Alps into an instrumental language that is uniquely their own. Drawing on old manuscripts and folk dances such as Scottish, Mazurka and Ländler, they blend historical elements with contemporary soundscapes. These are inspired by experiences from folk and jazz music, field recordings, and crossover projects.
