Tatros Együttes

Tatros Együttes (HUN)Founded in Budapest in 1988, Tatros Együttes (‘Tatros Band’ from the Trotuș River in Hungarian) was born out of their love for the traditional folk music, dance and culture of the Csángó people. This Hungarian-speaking ethnic group lives principally in Moldova and in the Ghimeş region of Transylvania, now in Rumania. This band has played a decisive role in the popularisation and championing of Csángó culture. They’ve learnt from old masters, played this music at weddings, taken it to festivals and concerts worldwide, and are passing on the tradition to the next generations.
