The Slow Show (GBR)Since originally coming together in Manchester, England in 2010, The Slow Show has changed. They outgrew the roots of their indie raisin’ by putting in the road miles, particularly in mainland Europe, time on a German label, and their Rob Goodwin, now based in Germany, channelling inspiration from the words of Norwegian author, Karl Ove Knausgård. Out of this matrix of influences, impulses and inputs, they’ve created something original. Live, the layered instrumentation of the studio gets re-imagined into soundscapes with songs swooping tonally from the economical to the euphoric. ‘Americana with a stiff upper lip’, is the throw-away phrase on The Slow Show’s website biog. Rudolstadt is in for treats.
