Naghash Ensemble & Thüringer Symphoniker (ARM)The Naghash Ensemble is a contemporary music ensemble from Armenia consisting of four instrumentalists and

three vocalists. The timeless sacred lyricism of the Armenian mystic poet-priest, Mkrtich Naghash (1394-1470) is its beating heart. Together with the Thuringian Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of maestro Oliver Weder, they’re performing their composer-pianist and bandleader John Hodian’s Naghash garland Songs of Exile; and then his Songs of Wisdom in their own right. ‘This music is deeply anchored in Armenian culture and at the same time reaches far beyond it.
