Cimarrón (COL)For some 20 years the Grammy- and Latin Grammy-nominated Cimarrón have been the ambassadors of a rustic party music in Los Llanos – on the Colombian-Venezuelan plains along the Orinoco river. There Cimarrón means ‘wild bull’. The six-piece chose it as an allegory of freedom in music. An extraordinary personal blend mixing their Andalusian, Indigenous American and African roots. Tumbling, raw vocals, stomp dancing percussion and cascades of strings.
